This is based on a true story. I mean it's true. That is, it's what happened. Oh, and it was shot on my iphone.

Ben showed me what his time lapse footage. It had the music and everything. It was cool. But I also noticed it had windows. I asked him if I could do something with it. He said, "Sure." I wrote the first part and thought I was done. When I told my wife, she informed me that I was not done and that it needn't be so negative. She was right. I like that it finishes on an up note.

My office doesn't have any windows, and sometimes, I imagine they would be nice to have.

One day, three screenplay treatments came into Cutters. I was taken by their earnestness and creativity, and thought I should bring them to life in my unique fashion. I drafted several people to bring the pieces to life, and Cowboy was our first of three efforts. It was the simplest and most conventional, but hopefully its charm will be evident to the viewer.

Shadow Beings
Shadow Beings: Street Stories

The second of the found screenplays is significantly scarier. Figuring out how to represent sentient Shadow Beings was a conceptual hurdle we had to overcome, and I hope you appreciate our efforts.

It took a while to figure out the narrative in this, the third found screenplay. Sentences did not seem to follow one another in a logical manner, which led to some rather abrupt shifts in tone. There was more exposition in this treatment than in the others, which led to me stretching and recycling footage more than I would have liked. Still, if this piece achieves the author's stated goal, it will have been worth it.
